Новый и более содержательный флаг Прайда был поднят в мэрии Филадельфии 8 июня во время стартового мероприятия Прайда с участием городских чиновников.
В начале этого месяца в городе Филадельфия представили обновленный флаг Pride для празднования в этом году.
В дополнение к обычным шести цветам, у этого были две новые полосы сверху: одна черная, одна коричневая.
Этот жест предназначался для признания цветных людей в ЛГБТ-сообществе в Филадельфии после нескольких расистских инцидентов в гей-районе города.
В прошлом году в Интернете было размещено видео, показывающее, как владелец бара в «Гейбурте» Филли использовал расистские оскорбления, и было так много жалоб на дискриминацию, что город недавно приказал владельцам и сотрудникам более дюжины гей-баров и некоммерческих организаций пройти тренировки по толерантности.
Город надеялся, что флаг поможет цветным людям почувствовать себя желанными в сообществе, которое исторически не представляло их.

Графический дизайнер из Портленда Даниэль Квазар сделал редизайн радужного флага, который символизирует ЛГБТ-сообщество. К привычным шести цветам дизайнер добавил пятицветный шеврон с линиями в виде стрелы.
Обновленный Progress Pride Flag содержит новые цвета, среди них черный и коричневый, которые представляют людей со СПИДом, а также розовый, светло-голубой и белый, которые используют на флаге Transgender Pride.

Everything has a breaking point. There comes a time when too much weight causes a structure to falter and it comes crashing down.
So, will the latest update to the Pride flag tip the balance and cause everything to splinter, like a metaphorical giant Jenga tower?
The traditional rainbow flag, introduced in 1977, is known across the world. Its eight stripes became the global symbol championing the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people’s equality.
Since then it’s gone through various iterations and there’s now a version used around the world known as the Progress Pride flag.
It was created in 2018 and added a left-hand side chevron of black, brown, light blue, pink, and white stripes to represent people of colour, trans individuals and those living with or who have died from HIV/AIDS. The chevron forms the shape of an arrow to depict the need to drive forward movement.
But now even that has been updated. Inside the chevron is a yellow triangle with a purple circle to represent intersex people.
Yes, these are all groups who need representation, as society, by and large, has marginalised them. However, what was once a potent symbol, the flag, is now a weakness.
The intentions are noble and well intentioned, but by adding so much, its message is becoming ever more muddled.
The momentum it created for LGBT people is holding back those who are trans, living with HIV and who are intersex. Their struggles and experiences are not the same. So why should they all be lumped together around a single flag?
The kind of problem this can create has already been seen with British LGBT rights group Stonewall. Until recently, it had been hailed as a positive force, and was widely credited for helping to overturn a ban on gay and lesbian people serving in the British Army.
It also spearheaded a campaign for the normalisation in the age of consent for LGBT people and issues over equal pay.
But now Stonewall is under fire, with a host of organisations quitting its Diversity Champions scheme for its aggressive stance on trans rights. Among those to have opted out are broadcaster Channel 4, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and a slew of British universities.
The scheme is designed to encourage employers to make workplaces more inclusive, with those enrolled paying £2,500 for the privilege of signing up.
The right or wrong on issues like these come down to personal optics, but what can’t be debated is that what was once a force for equality has begun to cannibalise itself.
The Progress Pride flag is making the same mistake. It is essentially morphing into a symbol for anyone who’s not white and heterosexual, and that creates a gigantic imbalance. It is leading us down a path where there will be two general groupings, viewed incorrectly by some as normal and abnormal.
Others will just dismiss the Progress Pride flag as a gimmick and make jokes about its general worth. These have already begun, setting back the struggle to grant everyone respect and dignity, no matter their sexuality or gender identity.
God its getting ridiculous, soon the Pride Flag will just be the paint color chart at Lowe’s.

Then there are people who are detrans, those who have reversed their transition. Will they be next to be shoehorned onto the flag with another colour or symbol? Where will the drive for inclusion stop?
What the latest update to the flag shows is that perhaps the best solution is for groups to stay in their lane and not view things as ‘us against them’. One group of people can prosper and advance, independent of others.
But sadly, not all groups will move at the same speed. To put them all under one umbrella and hope they flourish is a naïve, flawed idea.
The Progress Pride flag has become nothing but a token that no one outside of those communities will bother to understand. It’s preaching to the converted and that’s the fundamental error of the modern activist.
You have to stand for something. But trying to stand for everything and everyone ultimately benefits no one.

Здравствуйте, уважаемые читатели блога KtoNaNovenkogo.ru. Наверняка вы не раз слышали или видели в журналах и газетах аббревиатуру ЛГБТ, но не каждый понимал, что скрывается за этими четырьмя буквами (хотя и догадывались 🙂 ).
Сегодня я попытаюсь простыми словами объяснить, что это такое, как расшифровывается эта аббревиатура, и расскажу другую информацию по этой теме.
Что такое ЛГБТ и как расшифровывается
Пришло обозначение из английского языка, где LGBT расшифровывается, как lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender. Аббревиатура используется с 90-х годов XX века для объединения всех представителей нетрадиционной ориентации, чтобы поведать миру о разных ее сторонах.
Цель движения под таким названием — это борьба за права сексуальных меньшинств, а девиз «Моя жизнь — мои правила» призывает других рассматривать представителей нетрадиционной ориентации как полноправных членов общества.
Цвет флага и другая символика ЛГБТ сообщества
Теперь, когда вы знаете, что значит ЛГБТ, пришло время рассказать о символике движения. Существует несколько отличительных знаков, которые помогают выделиться представителям нетрадиционных сексуальных меньшинств, регулярно используются в гей-парадах и других мероприятиях.
ЛГБТ-активисты и борьба за равные права
В принципе, этих знаний об ЛГБТ (расшифровка каждой буквы из аббревиатуры и сведений о символике) большинству читателей будет достаточно (для общего, так сказать, развития). Но я все же вкратце предлагают поговорить об активистах движения.
Лидеры этого движения добиваются признания прав сексуальных меньшинств в каждой конкретной стране на законодательном уровне.
Активисты в целях популяризации своих взглядов организовывают гей-парады, демонстрации, другие флешмобы (что это?) с целью расположить людей к своему сообществу.
Помимо рассказов о ЛГБТ, что это такое и какие цели преследует, они пытаются обратить внимание на проблемы современных сексуальных меньшинств в социуме.
Приоритетные цели активистов движения:
В странах Евросоюза и США ЛГБТ-активисты добились своих целей. Гей-парады периодически проходят в Китае, Венесуэле и даже Турции, где большинство населения исповедует ислам.
Плачевная ситуация для представителей нетрадиционной ориентации в СНГ и строгих мусульманских странах вроде Ирана, Афганистана или Саудовской Аравии, где гомосексуалистов порой уничтожают физически.
ЛГБТ-знаменитости
Многие знаменитости не стесняются открыто заявлять о своей ориентации и активно борются за равные права для представителей сексуальных меньшинств, являясь примером для других.

Как живется представителям ЛГБТ в России
В западных странах детям с ранних лет рассказывают «об этом» (что значит это понятие), и объясняют, что такие люди также имеют право на самовыражение (это та самая толерантность, что не есть плохо). Другое дело, что последнее время это стало больше походить на рекламу такого образа жизни, как более правильного (что абсурдно).
В России же представители сексуальных меньшинств сталкиваются не то чтобы с гомофобией (хотя и такое случается), но с нетерпимостью со стороны населения и правительства к рекламе и популяризации отклонений. На законодательном уровне официально запрещена пропаганда нетрадиционных половых отношений среди лиц, не достигших 18-летнего возраста.
Гей-парады, однополые браки, прямая или косвенная поддержка ЛГБТ — все это является непозволительной роскошью в России. Представителям сексуальных меньшинств чаще всего приходится скрывать свою ориентацию, а возможность создания семьи на официальном уровне для них отсутствует.
Терпимость, но не создание культа (ИМХО)
Теперь вы больше знаете об этой теме и какие знаменитости открыто говорят о своей нетрадиционной ориентации, и как относятся к сексуальным меньшинствам в России. Немного остановлюсь на последнем.
Сейчас в США стоит острейшая проблема (о ней пишут все их крупные СМИ) — это дискриминация мужчин. Нам из России это может показаться странным, но движение феминисток за свои права настолько извратило ситуацию, что мужчины в США сейчас оказались практически бесправны и потихоньку «вырождаются».
В ЮАР ситуации с борьбой чернокожего населения за свои права привела к абсолютно противоположному результату. Теперь там апартеид наоборот — белое население практически лишено всех прав и его откровенно дискриминируют.
Разогнавшись, очень сложно остановиться и не перевесить чащу весов в другую сторону.
К такому же печальному результату приведет и агрессивная борьба за право «нормальности» ЛГБТ сообщества. Это нужно понимать и учитывать. Одно дело воспитывать в обществе терпимое отношение (люди с отклонения не виноваты, что природа так распорядилась) и другое дело «качать права», как это делали десятилетиями феминистки в Штатах.
Поэтому мне уравновешенный подход России в этом вопросе импонирует. Но это не значит, что вы должны быть со мной согласны. Это даже хорошо, когда имеется множество мнений, ибо это позволяет достигнуть наиболее удобного для всех консенсуса (что это?).

Как позновательно и справедливо написано. Пускай лгбт живут но не будут размножатся, к счастью такое менее возможно!!))
Так я и не понял, за какие права эти деятели выступают? Разве у нас есть дискриминирующие законы, ограничивающие права этих меньшинств?
Они говорят, что им запрещены однополые браки, мол, это дискриминация, но вот я, человек с традиционной сексуальной ориентацией, если на мужике захочу жениться, то мне ведь тоже нельзя будет, значит нет никакой дискриминации, когда всем нельзя.
Важно относиться толерантно к любым группам, если они никак не вредят другим. Однако, в борьбе за права меньшинств стоит придерживаться правил равновесия и здравого средства. Иначе, в результате будут ущемлены права большинства.
Мне лично всё равно кто какой ориентации. Я уважаю ЛГБТ но я не отношусь не к кому из них.

The cultural politics of identity is inherently narcissistic and divisive. Its outlook is dominated by the self-obsessed ethos of ‘it’s all about me’. And so it was only a matter of time before one section or another of the ever-expanding LGBTQ+ community started to demand a new version of the omnipresent rainbow flag. Why? Because apparently its colours do not adequately represent black, brown and transgender members of the LGBTQ community.
The desire for a new version of the LGBTQ+ flag is motivated by the objective of carving out a larger cultural space and greater influence for transgender identity entrepreneurs. Sections of the transgender movement resent the dominance enjoyed by gay and lesbian activists over LGBTQ+ related institutions.
In June, the Castro Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Cultural District (CQCD) in San Francisco became the scene of a veritable coup against old-school LGBTQ+ activists. It voted to recommend to the Castro Merchants, the business association that has jurisdiction over the area’s flagpoles, that it replace the original Pride flag in Harvey Milk Plaza with their new version of the flag, which they call the Progress Pride flag.
Unlike the original rainbow Pride flag, created by Gilbert Baker, the design of the Progress Pride flag adds black, brown, light blue, white and pink to the original colours of this symbol of LGBTQ+ identity. This is justified on the grounds that it is apparently more inclusive of black, brown and transgender members of the LGBTQ community.
In recent decades, there have been several iterations of the Pride Flag. What’s different about the latest flag is that it is integral to the coup led by trans activists, and is designed to displace the influence exercised by the old-guard leadership of the LGBTQ+ community. The rebels clearly want a piece of the action.
One of their academic supporters, Joss Greene, a sociologist from Columbia University, suggests that “the mainstream gay movement since the 1970s has become more politically reformist and assimilationist”.
Greene contends that “rather than challenging norms and laws around gender and sexuality, the gay movement has argued that gay people are ‘just like everyone else’ and should have the same rights”. He adds that, “the problem with creating this kind of hierarchy of respectability is that it empowers the most privileged gay and lesbian people at the expense of members of the queer community who are still seen as ‘deviant’, like trans people”.
The project of displacing the old Pride flag with the new Progress Pride flag is not just about upholding a more inclusive symbol for the LGBTQ+ community. It also about reducing the influence of the so-called ‘privileged’ gay and lesbian community. Resentment towards this group by transgender activists has been simmering under the surface for a while. They want their flag, and they want it now. The childish competition about which colours should be added to the rainbow exposes the fragile unity and solidarity that underpins the LGBTQ+ community.
A dispute about the Pride flag may strike some as an irrelevant and esoteric conflict between competing identity moral entrepreneurs. However, in the contemporary Western world, the rainbow flag enjoys great moral authority. Numerous state, parastate and private institutions have embraced the custom of flying the rainbow flag. Businesses and advertisers use its colour to communicate the idea that they are on the right side of the angels.
During the Covid pandemic, the colours of the rainbow were frequently used to symbolise the NHS and other health services. It is no exaggeration to say that the colours of the Pride flag have acquired a semi-sacred character. Especially in the Anglo-American world, this flag serves the same purpose as the cross did in Christian societies in the past. Those individuals and institutions who fly this flag are in effect performing a ritual of demonstrating virtue.
Arguably the Pride flag has become the most successful symbol of the cultural politics of identity. Its moral authority is underlined by the fact that other flags – especially those of nations – are often regarded with scorn. That is why there are local authorities in the UK that would rather fly the Pride flag than the Union Jack.
It is precisely because this flag possesses cultural significance that identity entrepreneurs wish to add new colour to it. However, even if the coup against the gay and lesbian establishment succeeds, it is unlikely that the rivalry between competing identity groups will cease. There will be other genders and other sexual minorities who will demand that their colour should be added to the flag. And even when we run out of colours, the narcissistic pettiness that drives identity merchants will continue to demand some form of new symbolic recognition.
The good news is that as the Pride flag changes its colours, there is a chance that we will get our rainbow back. Let the petty squabbles flourish, so that we can start taking seriously flags that have real moral depth.
